Building High Performance Teams
When a team is firing on all cylinders it has the capability to achieve outstanding results. Sadly, all too often teams fail to maximise their true potential and find it difficult to focus on achieving high performance goals.
Our approach to getting the best out of a team is based on over 20 years of experience working with teams at all levels in the organisation, from board level executives to front line delivery staff.
Key features of our approach are:-
- Being careful not to subscribe to the view that teams are a 'good thing' per se. Often our starting point is to ask the question – "Do you really need to be a team?"
- Basing whatever we do on effective diagnosis of the team performance issues by using a wide range of tools, many of which can be delivered on-line
- Looking to get a fix on the teams' 'chemistry' through the use of MBTI, Belbin’s Team Roles and bespoke 360° team audits.
- Innovative team learning approaches which major on the delivery of work based results including real-time business challenges and action learning
- Using, if appropriate an outdoor learning environment to enhance the team's ability to problem solve and action plan under pressure without resorting to macho tests of physical endurance and strength.
- Leaving the team with the skills and confidence to self manage its on-going development.
